Who We Are

Morning Star Foundation is a global nonprofit organization that provides funding, encouragement, and guidance for families who have children with severe heart disease.

Who We Serve

Families often find Morning Star Foundation through word of mouth - from someone in their village or even in the next hospital room. After we approve their case, we work directly with the families, hospitals, and other medical professionals, advocating for whatever care will give each child the best chance at a long, healthy life.

How We Help

We help families coordinate everything they need, including helping schedule surgery with the hospital, getting visas and other travel documents, and getting testing done. Families travel together, and they receive constant support from our staff members. And then, when the surgery is complete and the baby can travel, we help families return home and follow up with them periodically.

Uganda

Uganda is a country in East-Central Africa. It has a population of about 42 million people.

Many families in Uganda we help have never traveled outside of their local city. To help families cope with the experience of traveling to India, where the hospital is located, we pair two families together. Our pediatric ICU nurse also travels with them, helping them navigate the many consultations their child will need.

Jordan

Jordan is a small country of about 10 million people located on the East Bank of the Jordan River.

Morning Star Foundation began operating in Jordan in 2018. To get care for refugee children with heart defects, we’ve partnered with a hospital in Amman, the capital city of Jordan. We fund lifesaving travel and care for children of refugee families who have no other way to get surgery for their child.
