Morning Star Foundation Board of Directors
Founder and Executive Director
Bill is from Olympia, Washington and a self proclaimed fan of all things cars, coffee, and travel. Bill now lives in Fort Worth, Texas with his wife Jenna and their 5 adopted and bio kiddos.
Bill spent almost 10 years living and serving in China and was a part of the team that founded Morning Star Foundation in 2007. He and the Morning Star team have since expanded Morning Star Foundation to Uganda and Jordan. When asked why he cares so much about the work that Morning Star does, he stated that it is because he wants families to have hope. He says that “seeing the sadness, helplessness, and hopelessness in a parent’s face is indescribable. Then to see all of that erased when they learn that their child will have an operation that will literally save their child’s life is beyond words. Hope, or the chance of hope, changes everything for the family and even for their community.”
Remi is an Arizona local who studied social work at Northern Arizona University. When she isn’t working at MSF, she’s probably hiking, traveling or reading. She joined the Morning Star team full time in July 2019. Remi has been passionate about fighting oppression and injustice in the world since she was a teenager, and is excited about the way Morning Star comes alongside families to help them find healing and stay together.
In China we have a dynamic team of local board members who voluntarily sacrifice their time to run Morning Star Foundation in China. We are unable to share about these team members individually at this time, but will share more about them with our supporters as we are able.
In Jordan we have a unique partnership with Global Hope Network International (GHNI). GHNI is a humanitarian aid organization working with refugee families in the Middle East. While doing their work to bring relief to the refugee population in Jordan, they find families whose children are in need of heart surgeries and connect us with them. We deeply value our partnership with GHNI and could not do our work in Jordan without them!
Please note that due to confidentiality and the sensitivity of the work we do, not all of our team members are listed here.
